A Bartending Course One West Coast Express Ride From Pitt Meadows
Pitt Meadows station is on your doorstep and runs to Waterfront with no transfers. Seven days from beginner to certified.
The Station Is Already Yours
Pitt Meadows has its own West Coast Express station, which means the train is effectively local transit here. It runs into Waterfront Station without a single transfer, and our school at 319 West Pender Street is a short walk from the platform. Students come from downtown Pitt Meadows around Harris Road, Bonson, Osprey Village and the north side.
The 7-Day Commercial Bartending Course expects no prior experience at all. You cover the standard drink list, the four mixing methods, accurate pouring and how to keep up when a bar fills, and you leave with the Fine Art Commercial Bartender Certificate. It is a week, and it is the same certificate everyone else in Metro Vancouver holds.
Getting to Class from Pitt Meadows
Board the West Coast Express at Pitt Meadows station and ride it to Waterfront, roughly 45 minutes with no transfers, then walk about ten minutes to our door. It is a weekday commuter service, inbound in the morning and outbound in the afternoon, so check the timing against your class.
When the train does not line up, the 701 runs to Coquitlam Central for the Millennium Line, then a change at Commercial–Broadway onto the Expo Line. Driving over the Pitt River Bridge and in on the Lougheed takes about 55 minutes off-peak, and downtown parking is metered.
Parking at Pitt Meadows station and taking the train is cheaper than seven days of downtown meters, by a wide margin.

Bartending Jobs Near Pitt Meadows
Pitt Meadows itself is small, with restaurants and pubs around Harris Road and Osprey Village and steady event work at the golf courses and the athletic centre. The real market is next door: Maple Ridge, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam are all within twenty minutes and hire from the same pool of staff.
That is worth knowing when you apply, because a certificate does not expire and is not tied to a city. Our bartender job board, resume template and interview support help you cover the whole area rather than just the town you live in.
A certificate is not a job guarantee, and we will never pretend otherwise. It does give you a real edge when you apply.

Our Classroom Is a Real Bar
There is no simulation involved. You work behind a real 22-foot bar at your own fully stocked station, using the same tools, bottles and glassware you will find in a working room. Because the classes are deliberately small, you get corrected in the moment instead of hearing about it at the end of the day.
Modern, Hands-On Curriculum
This is a practical trade and the week is weighted that way, with about two-thirds of your time on your feet at a station. We revise the manual regularly so what you learn reflects what is genuinely being ordered right now, not a drink list that stopped being accurate a decade ago.
Pitt Meadows, Answered
The questions we hear most from Pitt Meadows.
Do I need experience?
None at all. The course is built for complete beginners. Most students walk in having never made a cocktail. On Day 1 you're already pouring and building drinks behind the bar.
Do I need Serving It Right?
SIR is a separate ~$35 BC government certificate to serve alcohol on the job. It's not part of our course (and isn't needed to attend, since we don't use real alcohol), but we recommend completing it before you start applying.
Will this help me get a bartending job?
That's the goal. You finish with a recognized Commercial Bartender Certificate, a reviewed resume, interview prep, and access to our Vancouver Bartender Job Board where employers post openings.
Do you run classes in Pitt Meadows?
No. All classes run at 319 West Pender Street, Unit 10 in downtown Vancouver. Pitt Meadows station runs to Waterfront on the West Coast Express in about 45 minutes.
Is the West Coast Express worth it for a seven-day course?
For most people, yes. It is one seat with no transfers, and parking at Pitt Meadows station for the week costs a fraction of seven days of downtown meters.
What happens if I miss a day of the course?
Tell your instructor. Retakes are free and unlimited for life, so you can pick up whatever you missed in a later class at no extra cost.
